Are you like I am and would like to see that the world embraces gender equality? I am sure most are, but perhaps only up to a point?
What is gender equality? I am sure that we can agree that women should be paid equally to men for the same job. And women should have the same rights and opportunities as men. But there are some situations where men do not have the same opportunities. I am of course talking about outer appearances; How we dress and present ourselves to our surroundings.
It has been socially accepted for a while that women can dress in male garments. And my pray to the Universe is that the world will accept males that dress in garments traditionally used by women. I know there are quite a few men out there who would love the opportunity to wear high heels, female pants or skirts without being judged by what other people think. My mailbox is proof of that. I also know some of you do wear tall boots or high heels in public without caring. And I salute you for that. But what if we could remove labels on clothes and shoes and just refer to them as “clothes” and “shoes”. What if finding stiletto heeled boots in size US14 (EUR 46) was as natural as finding running shoes. Wouldn’t that be wonderful.
It all starts with ourselves. And it all starts with moving from dreaming about it to act on it.
Just out of curiosity, I have created two polls.
Here’s one for our male readers:
This is for the ladies:
Please, be honest!
